Turning with CNC
Conventional ODIA turning appyes most commonly to a single insert cutting tool fed parallale to the ODIA surface. This operation can be performed with a manual operated machine on simple work configuartion or via CNC[computer numeric controled] for more complex ODIA shapes. The utilisation for manual or CNC machine depends on quantity and complexcity for the parts to be machined.
The majority of our turning machine are state of the art CNC equiped lathe, operatet by experienced and well trained CNC operators.
In ODIA turning operation, the workpiece is rotated and a single insert cutting tool is traversed along two axes of motion to produce precise diameters and depths. Turning can be either on the ODIA of the cylinder or on the IDIA. turning on the IDIA of the part is called single point boring.
There are four different types of turning processes: straight turning, taper turning, profiling or external grooving. Those types of turning operation’s will produce various shapes such as straight, conical, curved, or grooved workpiece.
In general, turning uses simple single-point cutting tools. Here at Kaiser Maschinenbau we have got 10 machines with differend swing , length and weight capacity as well as multible brand control systems at our disposal.
